Well with training camp set to open in less then 2 weeks, its a great time to get into hockey mode and and break down what the Leafs might look like for there opening night matchup against the Senators.

This position looks all settled pertaining any trades with Toskala and Raycroft heading into the opening season 1-2, Clemmensen is the current 3rd stringer and will split games with Pogge for the AHL Marlies.

The Leafs do have a set six in McCabe, Kaberle, Kubina, Gill, White and Colaiacovo with a fight for the #7 spot coming down to Wozniewski and Kronvall. There is also Harrison, Belak (who has the 23rd spot) and Stalman that would need to turn some heads to crack the starting six.

The Leaf forwards will look something like this Sundin, Steen, Blake, Ponikarovsky, Antropov, Wellwood, Tucker, Bell, Kilger, Devereaux, Stajan, Pohl, and Battaglia.
with Williams, Newbury, Salmelainen or Gamache looking in from the outside and needing a big camp to crack the roster.

Maple Leafs Opening Night Roster

Starting Goalie: Toskala Backup: Raycroft

Defense: McCabe-Colaiacovo, Kaberle-Kubina, White-Gill

Forwards: Blake-Sundin-Antropov

Scratches: Stajan, Belak, Wozniewski

What does your opening night lineup look like?

1.Steen-Sundin-Blake 2. Tucker-Wellwood- Ponikarovsky 3. Bell-Stajan-Antropov 4. Kilger- Devereaux- Battaglia and for defense I agree with you're pairing although for opening night it's very possible Kaberle and McCabe will start together. For goalies I obviously agree aswell...

tucker on the third line? prob not on opening night. personally i'm torn between keeping the skyline intact or psuhing blake up to first line on a consistent basis. I'm also torn between Pohl and Stajan. Stajan is a steady player who frankly probably won't go much further than last season. He is a decent third/fourth line center. Pohl however has pulled off some pretty impressive moves. . . sometimes. I can't predict and maurice does a fair bit of line changes anyways.

If Bell isn't still suspended...Blake - Sundin - PonikarovskyTucker - Wellwood - AntropovBell - Stajan - SteenKilger - Devereaux - BattalgliaIf Bell isn't in...move Kilger up to the wing on the third and bring in Pohl on the fourth line either as a winger or the center.McCabe - KaberleKubina - ColaicovoGill - WhiteStarting tender is hard to decide...I'd go with Toskala, but that depends on training camp.

I actually think Blake will end up playing on the second line with Wellwood as his centre. Blake AND Sundin are BOTH scorers, and therefore playing on the same line together may limit them. They thrive when they have someone setting them up. Therefore my lines are:1. Ponikarovsky - Sundin - Antropov2. Tucker - Wellwood - Blake3. Stajan - Steen - Bell4. Kilger - Devereaux - Battaglia

I like your lines Fox, my only concern is having two players of the same style on the second line. It could click and be spectacular or it could just end up as a race between tucker and blake for the spot beside the net. I guess we'll see how camp goes. Other than that i like your lines

Foxxv6: I think that is a definite possibility. One thing that is for sure is that there won't necessarily be a set of lines, they will move around a bit (injuries or no). I'm wondering how the PP and PK lines will be set up as well.
