D-Day For Peca

Posted 1:12 AM ET | Comments 6
After I wrote and posted this blog only to realize that I hadnt signed in and would have to re-write it, I realized that I need some sleep. So Im going to quickly get this out before I hit the sack.

Peca will reported decide today regarding which team he will be playing on for the 2007-08 season.

This comes as relief to the many fans who have had enough of arguing about whether acquiring Peca would be a good move for their team.

UPDATE: IMO, these are Peca's odds of signing with the following teams.

Rangers: 39%
Leafs: 46%
Jackets: 10%
Other: 5%

It should be an exiting day tommorow and I would like to hear which team(s) you think should sign Peca, which place is best for Peca and where you think he will ultimately end up. Additionally, if you have any legitimate information, please post it on this blog.

I know that enough has been said regarding Peca joining the Rangers - good and bad. I think that MP would be a good addition to the club given that we have lost a good faceoff man in Cullen and could always use help on PK (Rangers like to take one or two penalties once in a while). So, I'm ready to learn today that #27 is joining the NYR. Also, I have read some blogs from Maple Leafs fans about how Peca made young guys better defensively when he was there, and I think that it would be a positive to have Prucha and Callahan learn from one of the better two-way forwards how to play best on both sides of the ice.

He will be with the Leafs. Just a hunch. The Rangers are already a very good team and I liked the acquisitions they made this summer, because they got character guys, they didn't only sign players for the sake of it. I don't think Peca is the most pressing need for the Rangers, it's defense. And if they plan to trade for one, they can't be over the cap by 2.5 to 3 million and get a Jovo. Anyways, you really are one of the best bloggers on this site man.

I think he'll end up in Columbus. They've got a hole to fill, some extra cash now, and Peca has stated he likes what Howson did in Edmonton and what he does 'behind the scenes'.
