Hey everyone. In the next few weeks I am going to do a series of blogs that will introduce you to a few key Sharks players. I feel some of the young talent that San Jose has on it's roster is not recognized by the media as much as some of the other teams. I understand that being on the West Coast many people can't catch a Sharks game, including the media. I am not one to rip the media for not paying attention but feel these guys need some well deserved recognition. So here we go.
Milan is on the verge of having a huge year in San Jose. Ready to improve on a 66 pt. campaign last season, Michalek is emerging as one of the leagues best wingers.
Drafted 6th overall by San Jose in 2003, he is looking to show why he was such a high draft pick. Appearing in 159 games in his first two seasons he has proven he can stay healthy. At 6'2'' , 220 lbs. the youngster is no pushover. He has great strength on his skates and also has great speed up and down the ice. With a +17 rating last year he proves he can be defensively responsible, as well as an offensive threat.
Milan will most likely play on a line with Thornton and Cheechoo although no line combos are certain just yet, especially in San Jose. Wherever he finds himself at this season you can be certain you will find him on many score sheets.
So look out ! Milan Michalek will be lighting many lamps in many cities this year !
