Wow. That was playoff hockey. I watched the game live, then re-watched most off Tivo because I was way too amped up to sleep. That was what I expected from Washington the entire series. I guess the inexperience took them a few games to adjust.
Carter was a beast. Hard to believe that all the offense his group put up while checking Ovechkin. AO got some points, but they were PP points. Even strength the Flyers are dominating the play. The depth of the Flyers forwards and defense is showing as the series goes forward. The Caps play a shorter rotation of both and the wear is showing. Stevens rotated the entire team the entire OT periods and it paid off.
How about the two saves by Huet in the 3rd period. I thought the game was over twice! How did AO miss the open net? Did he miss any like that all season? That is why the playoffs are great. The playoffs make guys feel and act different. Timonen has been incredible and I thought that Hatcher is playing great too. How about the powerplay with 3 minutes left. They peppered the puck all over the zone and just couldn't score. I almost lost it at the end of regulation when Biron almost gave it away.
I am lucky enough to have friends in the area that secured me a ticket to the Verizon Center for Game 5. So me and my buddies are heading to the game in full Flyers gear and sitting in a club box! I will make some notes of the atmosphere and blog after the game.
Go FLYERS!!!
