1st Period
That was a good period. Some random notes.
*Fans are starting to boo Richards now too. They should be booing Umberger! Price made a great save on a 2 on 1 versus Richards.
*Nice tip-in on the Powerplay. Montreal 1-0
*Montreal is playing physically for the first time in the series. They are hitting consistently and taking the puck between the circles.
*Good PK by the Flyers and a couple of nice saves by Biron.
*Umberger goal is a thing of beauty - scored on a rebound while falling.
*Montreal scores on a bounce of Kovalev's skate. Give credit to the Habs for taking the puck to traffic.
*Why can't linesmen drop the puck. Does there always have to be a hitch?
*Jeff Carter carries the puck and just shoots consistently. He fires the puck every time. No wonder he scores.
2-1 Montreal at the end of 1. Not a bad place to be. The Habs had to play their best hockey to get a lead.
2nd Period
Wow! I thought after the missed opportunities on the 5 on 3 that the game was not going the Flyers way tonight. But they dug down and got things turned around. Richards, Umberger, Hartnell scored in rapid succession. 4-3 Flyers after 2.
I don't think Price will play the 3rd period. I have watched him all year. He was one of my goalies on my fantasy team. Something is wrong with his left hand. He cannot be 100%.
3rd Period
Once again the Flyers have proven that depth overcomes superstars. Kovalev is a magician, but he alone cannot beat 10 scoring forwards. Upshall and Knuble score goals late after the Habs tied the game at 4 early in the 3rd period.
On to the Eastern Conference Finals. While the Flyers were much improved this year, this run is as much fun as the 85 and 87 runs out of nowhere!
