The NHL players should be playing NHL hockey - not the Olympics. I hate it now, I hated it the first time, I hated the NBA Dream Team. The Olympics should include non-NHL players for hockey. They could use AHL or Major Canadian Junior or College Players. Think about how great the Junior World Championships are and how good the hockey is, that is all we want for the Olympics. So now players will be hurt and millions of dollars will go to waste.

Boo to the NHL and NHLPA for taking the players away from the game during the season, and hurting players before the season, and during the season. The break kills momentum and in my opinion ruins the Stanley Cup.

I wouldn't mind retroactively retracting the Carolina "goalie runner" Hurricanes cup win in 2006 for maintaining momentum after the break while other teams got bored.It's a pipe dream. =(

They should have a Hockey World Cup which are played every 2 or 4 years, which is after/before the hockey season. The olympics are a disruption to the season. You can bet the stanley cup of this year will be tainted by the affects of the 2 week olympic period.

Who cares....the Olympics showcases the best in the world. If Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps were in a professional league would you want them not to compete in the Olympics. Come on, the best need to be there to truly represent their countries otherwise Russia would win every year with a KHL team taking the title.

No NHL players. Canada and USA no long compete with the other teams. All other teams get to ice the best players. Just so happens that the NHL has Canada and the USA's best players. I just noticed that i just said pretty much what Leafprospect said lol so ya i agree with Leafprospect.

A little bitter about Gagne? give it up.. International hockey is the roots of this game.. it should be celebrated.. There is nothing I like more than a Canada/Russia matchup
