A couple weeks ago, John Tortorella got approval to put the last names of the Jackets' players on their practice jerseys. Personally, I think this is a great move by the Jackets to listen to Torts on this idea. It is a great way to help the media identify who is on the ice, and help the fans see their favorite players in non-competitive action as practices are open to the public.
Also, it was announced that Columbus would be bringing back Winter Park. The outdoor skating rink last year for the All-Star Game was fun to be on, but was very choppy and beat-up. There were also outdoor hockey games played by youngsters on travel teams, and it is a great effort by the city to give memories to the children of Columbus. Hopefully, people will enjoy the rink this year.
More to come...
