Hello Blue Jackets fans. It's been a while since I wrote because of work and school and other things, but I am back with a bunch of mini articles for everyone as the Jackets are going through quite a quiet offseason thus far.
CBJ- Boedker As A Blue Jacket?
According to Pelle Eklund of Hockeybuzz, the Blue Jackets have a level of interest in Avalanche winger Mikkel Boedker.
The Danish winger was a former first round pick of the Arizona Coyotes and spent seven years with the Yotes' organization. At the trade deadline, the Coyotes moved him to Colorado for veteran winger Alex Tanguay, center Connor Bleacky, and defenseman Travis Wood.
In Colorado, he did not have much of an impact, thus hurting his value on the open market. Calgary and Los Angeles are also interested in the 26 year old.
What are your thoughts on Mikkel Boedker?
CBJ: Closing In
According to Craig Custance of ESPN, the Columbus Blue Jackets and defenseman Seth Jones are talking about a new contract, and are in the same ballpark on what a deal could look like. A deal should come together sooner than later.
Personally, I think Jones deserves a long term deal because he will be a corner stone defenseman for this team for years. Jones was successful in Nashville and was a workhorse for them in the postseason.

Richie, A Red Wing?
According to Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch, the Detroit Red Wings were given permission to speak to former Blue Jackets head coach, Todd Richards.
For Detroit, this is a great move to bring a player friendly guy into the dressing room. He also has playoff experience. He could also become a mentor for Jeff Blashill.
After being under a strict rule of Mike Babcock for years, the Wings are looking for chemistry instead of resiliency. And they are looking to to extend their playoff streak to 26.
What are your thoughts on the move?
The Lake Erie Monsters are up 3 games to 0 against the Ontario Reign. The Monsters have been led by defenseman Zach Werenski, who has averaged a point in every game in the Calder Cup playoffs. That's consistency coming from an 18 year old kid. Other standouts have been guys Columbus fans are family with- Oliver Bjorkstrand, Sonny Milano, Josh Anderson, and Kerby Rychel. Other guys that Monsters fans know are Alex Broadhusrt, TJ Tynan, and Lukas Sedlak. Other impressive guys have been the goalies, Joonas Korpisalo and Anton Forsberg.
What are your thoughts on the Monsters? More to come…
