Lars Eller breaks through for the Washington Capitals as they defeat the Columbus Blue Jackets by the final score of 3-2, in double overtime.
Three of the five goals were scored in the second period. Washington opened the scoring with help from defenseman Matt Niskanen, his first of the series. Tom Wilson and Alex Ovechkin got the assists.
Five minutes later, rookie center Pierre-Luc Dubois evened the game with his first career playoff goal. Artemi Panarin and Seth Jones had the helper. It was breadman's fifth assist of the postseason; and it was Jones' third assist.
Late in the second, John Carlson got the Caps their second lead of the night with a powerplay goal, which was his first of the playoffs. Nicklas Backstrom and Ovi had the helpers.
Panarin evened the game in the third period, for his second of the the playoffs; Cam Atkinson had the lone assist.
