With October now behind us, it is time to look back at a very hard month of hockey to watch.
After a very impressive preseason where the Jackets looked like a playoff team, a very slow start in the early stages of the regular season results in the removal of Todd Richards and the hiring of John Tortorella. With the new hiring of Torts, back-to-back wins result in back-to-back loses to end October.
In October, they lost to the New York Rangers twice, the Buffalo Sabers, the Ottawa Senators, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Chicago Blackhawks, the New York Islanders, the Minnesota Wild, the Washington Capitals, and the Winnipeg Jets.
They only beat the Colorado Avalanche and the New Jersey Devils.
Through the month of October, Boone Jenner leads the Jackets in points (7) and goals (6). Cam Atkinson leads in assists (5). Sergei Bobrovsky has both team wins. Ryan Murray leads defensemen on points (5), and both he and Jack Johnson lead Jacket d-men in goals (1). Brandon Dubinsky and Cody Goloubef lead in plus/minus at 0.
That's all that I got for memory for last month. More to come...
