With the World Cup of Hockey in about 9 months, why not look now to see who may make each team. Instead of focusing on the entire league, and being a Columbus. Blue Jackets blogger, lets look at this roster before the entire league gets involved in my predictions.
Team USA.
1. Brandon Dubinsky- His play earlier this year may got the attention of Dean Lombardi. He would be a great bottom six player on the American team.
2. Nick Foligno- The captain has not found his last season success yet, but if and when he does, he may get on this team. My guess is he would be, like his teammate Duber, a bottom six guy on the team.
3. Jack Johnson- After being cut from last year's Olympic, he was pissed and wants to get back into the American roster. It may be easier for him this time as the younger defensemen are on the under 23 team. My guess is a top 4 defenseman at best, 7th defenseman at worse.
Team Canada:
1. Ryan Johansen- A phenomenal player currently going through a rough patch in his career, but since his lack of defensive play is the only flaw in his game, Canada has a great young center they can pick up. With their influx of centers, would he want to play the wing, or can they find someone else. My guess is a second or third line center role for Joey.
Team North America (Under 23): Brandon Saad, Boone Jenner, Ryan Murray
Team Sweden: Alex Wennberg
Team Finland
Team Czech Republic
Team Russia: Sergei Bobrovsky, Fedor Tyutin
Team Europe (European All Stars)
