The Lake Erie Monsters are looking to get stronger as they look towards a post season appearance. Columbus is looking to do that by placing defenseman Justin Falk for the purpose of player assignment.
Falk is on a two-way contract, but since there were injuries to the defensive core of the Jackets, he was called up early in the season. Now, the team is healthy, and is looking to get more playing time. It is a great idea, but might a team claim the towering defenseman off waivers? Boston, Pittsburgh, and New York make sense in the East. In the west, Dallas, Chicago, and Los Angeles might make sense. If claimed by any team not named the New York Rangers or the Minnesota Wild, this will be his fourth NHL team.

He clears. That's amazing considering the fact Andrew Bodnarchuk (COL) and Kevin Connuaton (ARI) were claimed.
What do you make the Jackets' defense? More to come…
