Columbus gets the win at home in what looks to have been Scott Hartnell's final game as a Blue Jackets. The game seemed to be outshined by big trades during the games, but the Jackets win 4-3 in a shootout, to avoid the season sweep.
Florida struck halfway through the first period on a goal by Alex Barkov. The goal was his 19th goal, and they got helpers by Jaromir Jagr (my player to watch) and Jussi Jokinen (500th career point). In the second period, Vincent Trocheck scored twice, earning goals 19 and 20 this year. The first goal was unassisted and came 93 seconds in. The second got an assist from Alex Petroic at 10:28. At 14:18 into the final frame, Logan Shaw scored his 5th goal on the season; Nick Bjugstad and Dimitri Kulikov earned the assists. Roberto Luongo stopped 22 of 25 shots in 65 minutes for a 0.880 save percentage (88%).
Columbus was dead in the first period with only one shot on net. Their first goal came with 9:56 left, and it came from Scott Hartnell, who earned his 20th goal of the season, and his 100th point as a Blue Jacket. In the final frame, Seth Jones scored his first goal as a Blue Jackets, and second on the season. Brandon Dubinsky and Nick Foligno both earned their 24th assists on the season. Brandon Saad scored later on (7:21) to earn his career high 24th goal of the season. Hartnell earned his 21st assist and Alex Wennberg earned his 20th. In the shootout, Brandon Dubinsky was the only player to score in the shootout. Joonas Korpisalo stopped 28 of 31 in 65 minutes for a 0.903 save percentage (90.3%)
