Work and illness have put me down the past couple of days but it did not slow down the Blue Jackets. The Jackets managed back to back wins, including a domination and a come back.
First, the Jackets defeated the Buffalo Sabres in First Niagara Center by a final score of 4-1.
Buffalo's lone goal came in the early stages of the second period. Sam Reinhart scored his 23rd of the season on the power play (13:37); Jack Eichel and Matt Moulson had the assists. Jason Kasdorf was the goalie for the Sabres, and he stopped 26 of 30 shots in his NHL debut for a 0.867 save percentage (86.7%).
Columbus got goals often on the rookie goaltender. The Jackets' first goal came in the first period from Matt Calvert. The power play tally is his 10th of the season (10:45); Brandon Dubinsky (31) and Ryan Murray (20) had the assists. The Jackets got two goals in two minutes and nine seconds in the late stages of the second period. Captain Nick Foligno scored his 12th of the season (15:16); Boone Jenner (19) and Josh Anderson (3) had the assists. Not long after, Dalton Prout netted his career high 3rd goal of the season (17:25); William Karlsson (11) had the lone assist. In the third period, Brandon Saad netted his 30th of the season (5:11); Alex Wennberg and Oliver Bjorkstrand had the assists. Joonas Korpisalo made 34 saves on 35 shots faced for a 0.971 save percentage (97.1%).

At home, for the final game of the regular season, the Blue Jackets pulled off a comeback victory of the Chicago Blackhawks, winning in overtime by a final score of 5-4.
The Hawks dominated early scoring three goals, including one nine seconds in. Patrick Kane scored the first goal of the game for his 45th of the season (0:09); Artemi Panarin and Dennis Rasmussen had the assists. Panarin scored back to back goals later in the first to get to 30 on the second. On goal number 29 (11:25), Patrick Kane and Brent Seabrook had the assists; number 30 (14:06) was unassisted. At 9:49 into the final frame, Kane scored his second of the game for his 46th of the season; Marcus Kruger and Seabrook had the assists. Corey Crawford made his return, and he stopped 20 of 25 shots for a 0.800 save percentage (80%).
Columbus pulled off a comeback scoring four unanswered goals after going down 3-0, and then preventing Chicago from scoring an overtime or late regulation goal. Scott Hartnell scored the team's first goal of the game in the second period for his 22nd of the season (6:29). The goal was also his 300th career goal; Alex Wennberg (31) and Brandon Saad (22) had the assists. At 12:55, Matt Calvert scored his 11th goal of the season. At 17:00, Brandon Saad scored his 31st of the season; Wennberg (32) and Hartnell (25) had the assists. In the early stages of the third period, Alex Wennberg scored his 8th of the season (3:09); Hartnell (26) and Ryan Murray (21) has the assists. Midway through the overtime (2:28), Scott Hartnell scored a power play goal for his 23rd of the season; Cam Atkinson (26) and Seth Jones (28) had the assists. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 22 of 26 shots for a 0.846 save percentage (84.6%).
