With training camp coming out soon, the Jackets have signed three players to professional tryout offers, and all three are former Edmonton Oilers.
C Jarrett Stoll
D Marc- Andre Bergeron
RW Mike Brown
Stoll is a veteran center that can also play the wing. He has played with Edmonton; Los Angeles; New York Rangers; and Minnesota in his career. He won two Stanley Cups with the Kings; and almost won one with the Oilers.
Bergeron is a veteran defenseman that has played overseas the past couple of seasons. In the NHL, he has played with Edmonton; Tampa; Montreal; New York Islanders; Carolina; Anaheim; and Minnesota.
Mike Brown is a veteran enforcer who has played with Vancouver; Anaheim; Edmonton; San Jose; Montreal; and Toronto.
I feel all three have a shot because the Jackets need veteran experience on their roster; however, Mike Brown has the smallest shot because David Clarkson plays the same role and is being paid a lot more courtesy of Toronto.
Stoll is the veteran center this team needs as he can win face offs and has won the Stanley Cup multiple times.
Bergeon gives the Jackets a left handed defenseman with a powerful slap shot from the point.
