Last night, the Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Nashville Predators by a final score of 3-2 in overtime.
The Predators had goals both goals in the second half of the game. Their first goal came from newcomer P.K. Subban; the shorthanded tally was assisted by winger Kevin Fiala. The third period goal came from winger Victor Arvidsson; this goal was assisted by defenseman Peter Granberg.
The Blue Jackets got all their goals by their youngsters. Oliver Bjorkstrand scored the first goal of the game over the shoulder of Pekka Rinne; the goal was unassisted. The other goal scored in regulation came from prized defenseman Zach Werenski; the power play goal had assists from Sonny Milano and Bjork. The overtime winner came from William Karlsson; Milano and David Savard had the assists.
Anton Forsberg was the starting goalie tonight for Columbus, stopping all 21 shots faced; Joonas Korpisalo stopped 5 of 7. Pekka Rinne was the starter for Nashville, stopping 20 of 23 shots faced.
