In the span of 24 hours, there have been plenty of cuts.
On Wednesday September 28, the Jackets cut the seven players, and announced the injuries to two of the team's top prospects-
1. Vitaily Abramov --> QMJHL
2. Sam Ruopp --> WHL
3. Kole Sherwood --> OHL
4. Calvin Thurkauf --> WHL
5. Francis Beauvillier --> UFA
6. Jeremy Brouder --> UFA
7. Stephen Gibson --> UFA
The Jackets also lost Dillion Heatherington for six weeks to a fractured wrist. Expect him to be the top defenseman in Cleveland. Also, Keegan Kolesar is out for eight weeks with a sports hernia. He was named an alternative captain for the Seattle Thunderbirds of the WHL. Expect him to do well there.
Day two (9/29) of cuts brings the team roster to 52; however, if the injuries are cuts, the team should be down to 50, and with John Ramage on IR, there might be 49. But the current and official count is 52. Here are the new cuts from today:
1. Nick Mourtey --> AHL
2. Dante Salituro --> AHL
3. Justin Scott --> AHL
4. Patrick Dwyer --> UFA
5. Michael Houser --> UFA
6. Darby Llewellyn --> UFA
7. Lucas Peressini --> UFA
Another round of cuts continue with assigning players to the AHL.
1. Aaron Palushaj --> AHL
2. Dean Kukan --> AHL

Another round continues with the Jackets letting everyone that had PTOs go.
