The Columbus Blue Jackets have blanked the Anaheim Ducks by the final score of 4-0.
All the Jackets goals came in the first period, to the surprise of many, including me. All four were scored by two players.
The first two goals were scored 21 seconds apart. Sam Gagner scored his first goal was a Blue Jacket; Scott Hartnell and Lukas Sedlak had the assists. The second goal was scored by winger Brandon Saad; his second goal of the year was helped by captain Nick Foligno and rookie defenseman Zach Werenski.
The other two goals were scored 20 seconds apart. Saad scored first in the second half; his third of the year was assisted by Nick Foligno and center Alex Wennberg. The final goal was scored by Sam Gagner for his second of the season; Nick Foligno and Alex Wennberg had the assists.
John Gibson was the starting goalie for the Ducks, allowing four goals on 32 shots faced for a 0.875 save percentage (87.5%). Dustin Tokarksi got some late game action, stopping all 5 shots he faced. Sergei Bobrovsky had a perfect night, stopping all 35 shots faced.
