The Vancouver Canucks managed to shut out the Columbus Blue Jackets by the final score of 3-0.
Daniel Sedin opened the scoring in the second period with his 12th goal of the season. Brother Henrik Sedin and former Calgary Flames prospect Markus Granlund had the assists.
My player to watch for the Canucks added to his team’s lead. Former Boston Bruin Loui Eriksson scored his 11th goal of the season. The Sedin twins had the assists on the power play goal.
Former Penguin Jayson Megna extended the lead in the third period with his fourth tally of the year. Rookie Troy Stecher and veteran Alex Edler had the assists.
Loui Eriksson was my player to watch for the Canucks. The offseason addition had 19:08 in ice time, and registered his 11th goal, having a 50% shooting accuracy. His goal kept him as a +1 for the night as well.
Wild Bill was my player to watch for Columbus. He was a -1 with 13:02 in ice time as the third line center. Karlsson was a 40% in the faceoff dot, and also had two blocked shots.
Ryan Miller managed to stop all Columbus’ 33 shots for a 1.000 save percentage (100%).
Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 21 of 24 shots for a 0.875 save percentage (87.5%).
