Philadelphia Flyers are my team. They have been my team my entire life and will continue to be the team I love with the most passion.
Any sports days at work where they allow you to wear sports apparel I come in sporting something Flyers. Even this year which was such a long year for Flyers fans I proudly wore my orange and black.
I do have other teams I love as I alluded to in my first Blog entry.
The Flyers were eliminated by the Montreal Canadiens.
Montreal went on to Play Calgary. As a rare treat in those days Prism was airing the Stanley cup finals. I am not sure where the coverage was being fed from. I watched that whole series. I stayed up late and watched the Flames win the Stanley Cup at the Montreal Forum. They showed all of the after celebration to the wee hours of the morning. I watched every minute of it and fell in love with the Flames.
That Flames team is still my most favorite one. Mike Vernon became one of my all time favorite players.
Friday at work I pulled out my Minnesota Wild Jersey. I asked for it one Christmas. I was living in Iowa. I hadn't seen a Flyers game in 10 months. I decided I was going to become a Wild fan. Not that I could see wild games either the Local cable system in Iowa felt Detroit games were what people wanted to see. I liked the Wild Jersey. Going back to my story, I had 5 people at work identify the Jersey at first sight. That to me was pretty impressive. I took lots of ribbing for being a traitor. I didn't feel like a traitor. I like the Wild jersey. I like the color and the logo. I take every opportunity to wear my hockey apparel out for supporting hockey in general. I still love my Flyers. I would put on my Flyers jersey right now and wear it proudly.
What do you all think am I traitor or just a loyal hockey enthusiast?
I think you're secretly a huge fan of the Northwest Division. That or the Wild are just too cool to pass up.I actually have a few jersey's myself (washington, boston, obviously minnesota) and I will wear the Caps or Bruins jersey's on occassion. I also have a Islanders and Panthers hat that I wear every now and again. I feel like I'm supporting hockey in general with those pieces of apparal. However, I still wear the same Wild shirt at least 82 times a year ;) This year it'll be at least 86 times, but hopefully more.

I am a Wild fan. I also own jerseys from other teams. I love jerseys and I love hockey. I love supporting hockey.
I am similar in that respect.I love the Rangers with my heart and soul, but I also support other teams and hockey in general. I also own a Columbus Blue Jackets jersey, as I live in Ohio and support the Jackets.I think supporting the sport is a very important thing. Besides, there are some really cool looking jerseys out there (and the Wild is one of them), and who doesn't want an awesome hockey sweater?
Thanks guys I appreciate the support. It is possible I am a closet NW division fan.
Welcome to the NW.
My wife and I live in Boise, Idaho and are huge Leafs fans. We have season tickets to our local ECHL club, the Idaho Steelheads, where we wear our hockey jerseys. Through the years we have collected about 10 game-worn Steelheads sweaters along with about 12 Leafs jerseys. (We only get the NHL jerseys with the player names and numbers on the back) A couple years back I decided to get a Ryan Smyth Oilers sweater as I have always been a fan of the player and also liked the team. She felt as if I was a traitor. She didn't understand how I could wear that Oilers sweater and still be loyal to our Leafs. Over time she came around to feel as I did and even picked up her very own Raffi Torres sweater. We now have jerseys from four different NHL clubs, but only one is off-limits to actually wear. I ended up picking up a Darcy Tucker (my fave player) game-worn sweater from his rookie year...with the Habs. I love having the game-worn Tucker in my collection, but just can't seem to be able to get myself to pull that sweater over my head to wear!
