AHL 1/25/08 bears @ Phantoms

For whatever reason Friday nights from my work to the Wachovia Complex doesn't take as long so I had an easy time getting down and in. There was just a ton of people at this game last night. I basically had to park closer to the Wachovia Center then the spectrum.

I picked up my ticket at Will call and there was 4 lines 7 people deep in will call.
Lines to get into the building were long and one almost wrapped the whole side of the building.

I get in quick walk to my first row seat next to the bench and look up all the black drapes that usually hang covering the top 2 tiers are gone. The lower bowl was pretty close to full as were the boxes. The second level had a pretty good presence of people too.

To me this was exciting. The Spectrum is where I saw all my Flyers games growing up.
the last few Phantoms games I have been to the center sections are filled but the corners generally are not and not alot of people in the upper tier at all.

The crowd which seemed to be a good mix was very into the game and loud.

I felt like I was watching a re run of the previous night's Flyers game. Out Shooting the opponent and the Phantoms would score then the Bear would score tit for tat. There was some rough stuff. Nate Guenin had a fight which iwas on the concourse for so no pics of vids sorry folks.

Phantoms ended up winning in shoot out. Tolpeko had 2 regulation goals and one in the shoot out.

I saw John Steven, Stephan Ruzicka and Darren Reid on the concourse.
