Hagman... injured? Apparently Hagman had the flu but came back and played one game in the pre-season, scored a goal and has promptly fallen off the map again. When Langkow hurts his neck we are told, "He hurt his neck". When Stajan Separates his shoulder we are told, "Separated shoulder, out indefinitely". Hagman get injured and we're told ... nothing? Maintenance. hmmm. The conspiracy theorist in me is wondering if the surplus of left wingers has Hagman caught in a trade negotiation and he's been told to sit. The pragmatist in me says, give it a break, he's just tweaked something. It's still odd.

Wahl being sent down to Abbotsford was going to happen, what is great is that he is finally showing what he is capable of. Remember Wahl is a 2nd round choice of the Flames but that draft was actually very deep, Nemisz was the first pick for the Flames that year.

Here is what I wrote about Wahl this summer:

"Mitch Wahl- Aside from this guy eerily resembling a ventriloquists dummy he is a super solid Center prospect. After putting up 96 points in Junior he goes to the Heat in Abbotsford and puts up 4 points in 4 games in the AHL playoffs. The playoffs. Not pre-season folks. Wahl has a great passing ability and scouts will all tell you he makes the players around him better, just ask Kyle Beach who more than doubled his goal total and added an addition 20 points to his previous season."

I love it when players make me look good!!

So we have a couple pre-season games against the Oilers, in addition to the prospect tourney and the games during the year I'm Oilered out. I seriously don't even want to go to an Oiler game anymore, I'm more interested in seeing some of the bright lights from other teams. For instance at the home opener I am really looking forward to seeing Kopitar play who I feel is emerging as a top 10 talent in the league.

Not that the Oilers don't have bright lights, far from it, I'm just going blind staring at them so much. Speaking of which though, Paajarvi is the guy I think is the best player right now of those young three. Not that Hall won't be fantastic or better at some point but Paajarvi gets it and is a sick goal scorer. I see Eberle like a Drury, a guy who gets his goals, never a huge amount, but always important ones.

I'm hoping that when the Flames totally suck again, as is the life cycle of NHL clubs, that they have the fortune to draft a guy like Paajarvi. Hopefully not too soon though!

I like him too. A guy who is good for 20 and 20 is a very good chip in a trade negotiation though. AKA here take this guy at 4mil but we'll also throw in this guy who is 3 mil and good for 40-50 pts. I'm not saying he IS going to be traded but the way they're dealing with him is shady.

Bourque can play both sides too. Tangs looks like tangs of two years ago. Creative and skilled. Fell off the couch when we first traded for him.
