you pick my 2nd round!!

Well the fantasy pools are soon or already up and running and I am letting Hockeybuzz bloggers pick my 2nd round guy! This is a very close knit pool with very knowledgeable hockey guys...

This is a straight forward pool, a point is a point, goalies get 2 for a win, 1 for an ot loss and 3 for a shutout (a shutout win is 5 added together).
Franchise players already selected are: Iginla, Thorton, Lecavalier, Crosby, Heatley, Spezza, Savard.

Here is list of guys I think would be good to take but you tell me your thoughts! guys with last years stats according to our pool.

Hossa- 100pts
Sakic- 100 pts
ovechkin- 92 pts
St Louis- 102pts
Jokinen- 91 pts
alfredsson- 87 pts
Malkin- 85 pts
Briere- 95 pts
Datsuyk- 87 pts
Jagr- 96 pts
Kiprusoff- 110 pts
Broduer- 140 pts
Louongo- 100pts

Here's the twist, I will be able to protect this player next year as well, having said that goalies can not be protected. This means I could pick kipper but I could lose out on having say Malkin forever... Let me know what you think!!

Ovechkin, I'd say take Kiprusoff, but Ovechkin is golden this year...with Semin/Nylander around on the top line with him, should give him more ice to put the pucks in the back of the net, then you can watch him flop into the glass.

I'd like to go with Luongo, he is going to put up a lot of wins and shotouts. Brodeur would be great too. But I would go with Ovechkin or Malkin though, since you can protect them.

jagr briere alfredsson sakic are all a bad idea... jagr has a new team with 0 chemistry, same with briere, alfredsson may have a SCF hangover and Sakic is getting old, so even though you can protect him, you'd likely be protecting a retirey next season... I'd go with Ovechkin.. I'm suprised he's still there in the second round :S

Ovechkin. He's about ready to score 120 points. Hossa, St.Louis and Malkin would round out my next three choices, although Luongo could probably nab you 110 as well. Good luck!

I'd put my vote on Luongo too! Get him early! But I would also agree that Ovechkin may blow up this year. Good luck.
