Congratulations to the Montreal Canadiens and their fans. You are among the classiest organizations and fans in all of sports! I love that the fans did not boo its team and gave them the heroic but painful send off they deserved - they left nothing on the ice and played with incredible heart.

Former Nashville Predator Scottie Upshall ices the game with a gorgeous tip-in shot off a blast from Jeff Carter. The Flyers were simply not to be denied tonight.

Congrats to a class group - on the ice and in the stands.

Bring on those Pens...

Flyers shake off the rust and score three unanswered goals to take a 4-3 lead going into the room at the end of two. The Habs came out buzzing and took a 3-1 lead with control of both the shot totals and territorial play. Not to be outdone, the human Hab Wrecking Ball - R.J. Umberger - scored his second of the night and amazing 9th of the playoffs. While still one stanza yet to be completed, you have to feel good about the direction the Flyers are headed after a lackluster first period.

Can Marty Biron will the Flyers a victory???

Can the Flyers win the battle of the faceoffs, as we know what the likes of Mr. Kovalev is capable off the draw?

Can the Flyers D keep the shots to the outside?

Most importantly, can the Flyers play aggressively (which they will need to do to win) without ending up in the box allowing Montreal time and space on their lethal powerplay (which they will need to do to win)?????

Only time will tell but there is only 20 minutes of it left in the Habs' hourglass and the grains of sand are slowly leaking out...

Going to be a war in period 3.

Go Flyers!

Only three periods of hard played hockey will determine whether the Flyers eliminate the Habs in this potential Handshake Game or whether Montreal lives to fight another day and force a Game 6 in Philadelphia.

Flyers will win if they keep Montreal shots to the outside, limit the number of quality scoring chances between the dots, stay out of the Sin Bin and if Marty Biron can continue his brilliant impersonation of Ron Hextall.

Canadiens will win if they can get Philly in the box and let their horses run on the PP, breakout of their defensive zone with speed and create odd man situations, refuse to get into a physical battle with Flyers forwards and if Carey Price can regain his regular season form.

Sorry Carbs, the Lucky Tie will not carry the day as the Flyers win and move on to face the Penguins in an intra-state Conference Final.

Flyers win 4-2.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Thanks for reading...

Great stuff, SYF. Very excited, very pumped. Leafy, don't you read the papers? The Flyers were supposed to get creamed by the Caps and the Habs. Bring on whomever, the rest of the ride is just gravy.

J.S. - you could not be more correct - we have been playing with House money since Game 7 of the Caps series. SYF

Hey, this team wasn't at or near the top of the conference for a huge part of the year for no reason. This is not a big shocker. Go Flyers.
