SYF's Top 10 List - Players you would like to see this year?

Before moving to the Top 10 list, I wanted to comment on the events that occured last night in the Flyers/Senators pre-season game.

The injury to Dean McAmmond is on the minds of all hockey fans, as it should be. The hit by Flyers prospect Steve Downie was unconscionable and flat out wrong. Irrespective of what Colin Campbell does, Downie should - and will - be punished to the full extent of the law of the rink. He is a repeat offender here and should be treated as such. As a Flyers fan, I feel sickened at his behavior and would be equally sickened if the player laying on the ice was one of my favorites. Intent to injure cannot stand in the NHL or any other league. It should not be allowed for Steve Downie and it should not be allowed to stand for anyone else in the league - rookie or 15 year vet. There is no place for this in the sport. It is dishonorable and shames the memory and legacy of those who came before. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dean McAmmond and his family.
