As a not-so-silent observer, I love the sense at HB that bigger and better things are just around the bend. It is exciting to be part of something that is truly living and breathing and evolving before us - EK keep up the pressure to constantly reinvent this place for there is nothing like it anywhere else. Now onto the changes that occurred recently.
The People:
I applaud the addition of so many new talented and committed mods to the room. It feels like a prince concert there is so much purple
. Seriously though, these people are the ones that do all the dirty work that goes on behind the scenes that only gets them called outrageous things like "adolf" - can you imagine a respected member of the HB community being likened to a mass murderer? Ridiculous only begins to scratch the surface.
The addition of new bloggers to "blogging the NHL" is great and will only continue to raise the bar for those who want to write and those who love to read about their team. I cannot read enough good hockey writing and I know it inspires me to want to write even more. We are truly blessed with some great talent here and it is awesome that writing is encouraged.
The Site
Just my two cents...the movement of Blogging the NHL to beneath EK's column, is a good idea at its new location. It keeps your eyes moving downward and flows into to the next sets of bloggers - well done. The Center column anchors the site and correctly gives the big money bloggers their due
.
The video on the right is very cool - a nice added touch. Changing the topic of the videos from best goals, to best saves to best bone crushing hits will keep it fresh. IScoop's trivia is perfect left as it was as a header to the column of videos. IScoop's evil, Sherlockian riddles need to have their proper place in the pantheon of HB.
The
"Radio-Free-EK" session was stellar. The opportunity to hear radio programs with members of HB is just an unreal idea and will be more than a trip to listen to. This is the sort of visionary stuff that makes this place unique. HB is taking over the airwaves - cats and dogs living together, mass hysteria!!
The Hardware:
Looking forward to the new servers coming on line in the next few weeks - more beefed up technology is never a bad thing.
I wait with bated breath to see the other goodies that will surely unveil themselves in the not too distant future.
Thanks for reading,
SYF :thumbsup
