I cannot imagine the horror that was felt by those who lived, worked, visited or had family or friends inside the Twin Towers on that fateful day six years ago. My heart can only go out to them on this day of remembrance.
Let us not only morn for those who were lost, but also celebrate the lives of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in trying to aid the wounded and search for survivors. The NYPD, NY Fire Department and all of the EMT and rescue personnel who acted so valiantly, without regard for their own safety, trying to save people they never met. You are all heroes.
Finally, let us all take a minute to thank, honor and remember those brave individuals in the planes over New York City, Washington, D.C. and Shanksville, PA who made the ultimate sacrifice of trying to prevent the carnage intended by their terrorist captors. Their bravery is the stuff of legends and their sacrifice cannot and will not be forgotten.
Please, take a second out of your busy day to honor those heroes and remember that Freedom isn't free.
Thanks,
SYF
Amen. And let's not forget those in Iraq and Afghanistan. Whether we agree with the strategy and /or the war or not, these men are what separate us from the tyranny of this death cult. Now let's go Flyers!
Thank you for the post SYF and the comments isaiah520. Here are two quotes to add: “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.” - Edmund Burke. "For those that have Fought for it, Freedom has a Taste that the protected will never know"
Wow blueline...thanks. I love the Burke quote. I appreciate your comments. SYF
SYF - Thank you very much for taking the time to remember those who lst their lives on that horrific day. I think we all get a little bit wrapped up our lives and lose track of what's going on out there in the world. There is still a war being fought to try to protect our freedom and rid the world of these psychopaths and we should be remembering every day just how lucky we are to live in the greatest country in the world! Again thanks to you SYF for taking the time to do this and thank you to Isaiah
It cut off the end of my post:
amen and well written
