Will history repeat itself

While Sabre’s fans are applauding the moves of rookie G.M. Kevin Adams bringing in Taylor Hall and Eric Staal making two formidable lines that I’m sure will dazzle Sabre’s fans but I can’t help but think back to the Drury/Breir situations where bad asset management damaged the team for a decade.

In the end we lost both players and watched them both succeed with their new teams.
Danny Brier was a scoring machine in Philadelphia while Drury was also a leader for the Rangers.

Now. back to the future, we have Hall & Staal on one year contracts. What happens if we loose both to trade or after a playoff exit to free agency? That leaves two glaring holes on your top two lines. Who are you going to replace Staal and Hall with? Tage and Mittelstadt?
