There couldn't have been any better opponent to test yourselves against if your the Buffalo Sabres, than the Pittsburgh Penguins.
From the drop of the puck the entire team played a relaxed, confident game playing the angles against Syd "the old" kid & Geno Malkin and the rest of the Penguins.
What's more sweet is Conor Sheary netting two against his former team AND great goaltending from Carter Hutton in a 3 - 1 victory in the Pens barn. G.M. Jason Botterill must have a permanent "Cheshire cat" smile across his puss. Beers and steaks on Jason!
Confidence, coming back to the 716 for the home opener against the retooled playoff contenders, New Jersey Devils. If the Sabes can handle the likes of Taylor Hall, Nico Hischier, Jack Hughes, PK Subban like they did Crosby and Malkin, we'll be 2 -0.
Jut to save space n time writing about individuals, I have to just say "all four lines". This is the best 60 minute effort that, I, can't recall happening in the past and I've been watching them since inception into the NHL.
Congrats to "Blue collar Krueger". It's only one game but it seems to me that the team likes what your teaching, keep preachin and rollin the wins!
Thank you Sabres!
BTW, I agree with CW.
