Oil & Buffalos

Another top player not happy with his team, Connor McDavid.
Could the Sabres land the biggest fish in the pond? It’s possible.

August 9th, 1998 The Edmonton Oilers trade The Great one, along with Mike Krushelnyski and McSorley to the L.A. Kings.

In exchange, The Oilers receive:
Jimmy Carson, Martin Gelinas, 1st rd. Picks in 1989, 1991 and 1993 and $15 million.

Here’s today’s equivalent.

The Sabres get the best player in the world, Connor McDavid.

Going back to the Oilers:
Jack Eichel, Sam Reinhart, Rasmus Ristolinenrn, 1st rd 2022 (protected),1st rd 2023 (protected) & $25 mil.

Remember the face of McDavid on draft day? I do, I had a worse look on my face. He looked disappointed to go to Edmonton?
I say put a smile on his face and mine.

Connor shuffles off to Buffalo.

Newly minted G.M. Kevin Adams would instantly become a rookie green horn g.m. hero in Buffalo and could take care of everything in one move.
