The Sabres really have nothing to loose by keeping Jack in Buffalo past next year.
One of the biggest points I’ve heard around the water cooler was the Sabres losing leverage if they don’t trade Eichel immediately and that would limit what they can get for Eichel because a limited number of teams to deal with.
That’s not true my friends, the longer he stays in the 716, the more pressure the Sabres would have to force Eichel and his agent to loosen the restraints on the limited number of teams they can deal him to.
Keeping Jack until we want to move him will piss Jack off. However, Jacks a top notch athlete, I don’t think he’ll purposely slow his production down, it’s just not in his blood. He channels pissed off energy into goals & assist.
His value continues to grow.
This competitiveness will only help the Sabres.
Not only that, if Eichel returned to forum and could endure the ruggedness of an nhl schedule plus possibly playoffs, with increased stats, the return for Eichel gets bigger, exponentially bigger.
So, Patience is a virtue that could become not only profitable but could actually give the club an identity and a solid foundation for years to come that will eventually become a destination for better players, players that will actually want to be in Buffalo.
What a great opportunity for a rookie general manager to come out smelling like roses and league wide respect. If Adams does this right he could be looking at consideration for g.m. of the year.
Sometimes the best trade you can make is no trade at all…..

did you say possibly playoffs? lol. no playoffs for buffalo. zero chance
I’ve seen crazier things
Love the optimism but Sabres need a goalie first
Two. If I knew they were hiring old people I would’ve done it cheaper.
