There are some UFA's that are available this summer that would make a fan salivate at the thought of seeing their name on the back of your favorite jersey like the Kovulchucks of the world. Having said that I always like seeing who is RFA, even better yet who is RFA on a team that is cap tight?
The first thing you have to do is identify the cap tight teams for next year, these team have around 10 million free or less in cap space players to sign: Philly, N.Y., Calgary, Chicago.
Now lets look at their notable RFA which are due mandatory raises.
Philly- Carcillo, Parent, Coburn
L.A.- no notables
N.Y.- Lisin, Garardi, Staal,
Calgary- Nystrom, White
Chicago- Ladd, Hjalmarsson (niemi has arbitration rights as well)
This may not sound like a list of guys that are incredible but make no mistake they are guys that can change the dynamic of your team! If they chose to keep these guys it opens the possibility that these teams are ripe to be picked for trades.
Philly has roughly 7.5 million to spend until they go over the cap leaving no room for injury money, they still have to sign 6 players including a real goalie, 2 defensemen one of which is Coburn and at least three forwards. Doable? Yes for sure, but it is TIGHT. Possible players where they have depth that could go are:
Briere, Carter, Hartnell.
N.Y. has around 10 million for 6 players as well, 2 players that are leaving are top six forwards as well, they also require a back up and 2 defense and at least one more forward, players they would love to drop are:
Redden, Drury
Calgary has only around 5 million, again this is not including space for injuries and has to sign 4 forwards of the 3rd/4th line variety and a back up goalie. Players that could move:
Langkow, Kotalik, Regehr, Staios, Sarich, Moss
Chicago is really in trouble here, they are pretty much already committed to the cap already for next year with 3 forwards, 2 d and a back up to sign. They could move:
Sopel, Sharp, Versteeg (they would love to move Campbell...but c'mon..)
So this could make for a very interesting off season, there should be some salary moved this year, there is a couple teams needing salary just to get to the floor as well so they will be getting calls from the teams above. I wish these stupid playoffs would end so we could get the action going!! Kidding.

Moving Kotalik at this point is pipe dream... not in the same league as the Ranger's Redden or Drury, but not as far away as one would prefer.
Gagne could be dealt by the Flyers, too. Short term deal, and i can't see them dealing Carter, unless the return is insane.
I was reading a lot of ideas involving Carter and Hartnell to Florida for Horton and Vokoun. Obviously there would be other cards to play here, but its an intriguing base for a deal.
Also not to mention half those players have NTCs for sure Hartnell and Briere do and I think Drury also
