To Troll an Oiler- A love letter from a Flames fan

Dearest Oiler fans,

I think this relationship needs some honesty. I know you're not the best at listening to it but I have to try anyway. I miss our battles, I miss when beating the Oilers meant something. I miss have a close head to head win loss count. I miss you being talented. I miss you having courageous fans.

How much does it burn (pun intended 100%) that Johnny Gaudreau has more rookie points than any of the Oiler first overalls rookie years? (thanks to @iggy4mvp for pointing it out) The Flames’ Johnny Hockey is looking like a calder winner and the Oilers, despite first overall picks galore, haven’t had one… ever. As a side note Monahan also had more points than Yakupov in his rookie year. This season Monahan and J.G. are both beyond those players in points as well. Eberle is the lone youngish oiler doing well and he’s tied with J.G. at 56 points ( comment below suggest because jg is 21, you can't compare, he's also a 4th round pick, 5'8 and 150 lbs...so yes you can compare. Serious denial here).

Speaking of Missing the boat on drafting, Lowe and MacT once again barfed up a hairball on Draisiatl over Bennett. He was shockingly bad at the NHL level for being the “most NHL ready” high level prospect. Leon now is 25 points in 30 games in the WHL, very mediocre. Meanwhile Bennett, returning from a shoulder surgery that hampered his play last year has 21 points in 9 games in the OHL. The old Oiler Lowe/ MacT winning percentage is just horrid. Worst front office in the league. They are factually the biggest losers in the NHL in recent history, that isn’t an opinion, that is fact. (Comment below points out inaccuracy here, I mistakenly used his pims, conceded. He's still not as prolific as bennett, that was the point you're in denial about, sensing a denial theme here.)

If the Oilers had real fans they’d be camped out picketing for their removal. Instead they’re just saying, “oh these arguments have been made before!”. They’re right. Year after year after year, the same arguments are made. Hey, I guess Oiler nation just likes taking it like the good sheep they are. (Comment below suggests that fans are helpless, no you're not, you just don't want to get off your ass and write letter to local media. You don't want to stop buying tickets, you aren't willing to force ownership to stop being a loser organization.)

I’m sure the, “Wait till next year when we draft so and so and so and so comes on the blue line and we sign so and so…THEN we’ll be awesome! We will see you in our dust!” will be mentioned here. I sure hope so, we’re all embarrassed for you now.

So, my little blue and copper lube drops, I really need you to fix this or it will just never be the same.
