Acccording to latest Flame press release at calgaryflames .com
QUAD CITY (AHL):
Eric Nystrom (LW)
I am not sure this is to surpising but Eric Nystom was one of 6 players that got sent down today. I am really surprised that he has not made the team as of yet but I wonder how much longer he has .
Brett Palin (D)
Sold dman still needs time to progreess but he is a solid hitter good in his own end.
David Van der Gulik (RW)
very fast good hands will be a flame some day I am really excited about his young man.
JUNIORS (CHL):
Leland Irving (G) Everett/WHL
probalby one of the young goalies around
John Negrin (D) Kootenay/WHL
Big and more big good shot hits well a little slow needs to grow out will be another fine prospect
J.D. Watt (RW) Red Deer/WHL
Surprised I thought he would of been sent to Quad cities played with a lot of grit got into a couple of scrums. I really like his heart I think he has a good chance of making into the league.
I thought Nystrom played well last night
I did to I thought he earned another game oh well but this keenan
Any concern yet about the lack of scoring Flametr?
very much so jer There is no scoring on the farm outside Boyd I am really quite worried if one of the flames top 6 go down I don't know who will be there to replace them.
Thinking back to last night Boyd was the only non-veteran that really stood out for me. He threw his body around and had some quality chances.Flamestr, what did you think of Grabner last night?
I haven't seen any pre-season games yet so I can't say how they look. I guess I shouldn't be too worried about being shut-out in 2/3 games but its hard not to be concerned.
green your right Its is early but I am still concerned that we had not offense at allgrabner show a lot of promise has a good chance but at this moment with it being pre season its hard to tell.
Yep you just never know. Who is looking good for the flames this year?
Boyd is the best prospect we have but I really don't know we have so many Centers, also look for Adam Pardy to make this team I really like the way he plays uses his size to his advantage. Great stay home dman.
Yes, I heard his name a lot last night. I remember taking notice because I thought Shorthouse kept saying Party:P. He looked solid. Is it just me or was Pheanuf underwhelming.
Dion is not playing very this camp its like something is missing I can't put my finger on it .
Its almost like without Hamerlik to take off some of the preasure he than tries to do to much and ends up doing nothing.
I was talking to some of the Media they said they were hoping that Aucoin can fill hammer's role it remains to be seen if that will happen
I think he might be putting to much pressure on himself. Hes still a young guy.
he might be I really don't know for sure what is going on I know when I talked to him he seemed to be really elsewhere when he was signing autographsFlamestr
Sutter said nystrom is now "a year behind and has to catch up to other players" and "has to let go of the 1st round tag" ... I think unless he gets a call up and gets lucky his time may have passed. He made the team last year before being injured. Ramholt is "a 7 or 8 guy" acording to sutter as well, he is a real mean hitter a la dennis goutier (sp??). You have to love our depth at center defence and goalie however we need a few winger prospects!!
Dion is a bit of an overhype and over rated player. He has potential to be a great, but he must learn to play better positionaly and come through when its counted on the most. He sure can score, be he also take ALOT of shots on the powerplay, but his accuracy seems to be going down. He might be suffering from being called up and put in the pressure situation too early. Dmen usually need few years to mature and learn the defencive aspects of the game.Keenen prefers experiance over anything, so young guys will have a tough time breakin in, no chances for screwin up. He can either make Lombardi a superstar or a complete bust.
