Panthers and Flames recap

Posted 12:38 AM ET | Comments 1
As I watched the game tonight, I finally got to see the real Kipper, and Vokoun was just as good. The two shared the spotlight with save after save. Kipper made 34 saves out of 35 shots. Meanwhile, Vokoun made 32 saves out of 33 for the Panthers in net.

The best period for the Panthers was the second period they pretty much took it to the Flames. They fired 13 shots at Kipper. They had a great period, scoring the only goal in the period. Olli Jokinen scored the only goal of the period in a terrible give away by Langkow. The Panthers deserved a lead after the 2nd period.

The third period was probably the Flames'. They fired 17 shots at Vokoun and probably would not have scored, if it wasn't for the lucky bounce to Iggy. The late goal scored with a little over 10 seconds left in the game. Two notes: How did Regehr's pass get through? No way should a long pass with that much time get through. The shoot-out ended with Juice the only one scoring in the shoot out.

The other note: I wanted to make a comment that Kipper actually made three saves in a shoot-out! Is this the real Kipper? You have to give him credit, that's three great starts in a row. There are some positive signs in Calgary -- points in 5 straight games.

Didn't see the game but I'm glad to see Vokoun play well overall. BTW, haven't mentioned until now, but it's good to see you back as a Flame along with your familiar avatar.
