When one is obsessed, when does one cross the line? I wondered if I am a little crazy with my hockey. Can one become to obsessive about hockey? I think not. But pretty please, do not ask my wife; she seems to take things to personally when it comes to hockey.

She seems to think that throwing things at the TV and yelling at the players for days on end seems to be a little obsessive. She seems to think that eating ice cream and chocolate (which seems to be the answer to everything) and topping it off with playing sad songs should be enough. She says I am obsessive and she does not understand me.

I like my updates from rumor world. A man needs his fix. You know, something could happen within 5 minutes. It’s a busy off season. Yes, I need to know what is going or I will miss it. Then the sounds of my wife voice echo “miss what?” Does she not know the agony of missing a trade rumor? “What kind of obsession do you have to know it first? How does it matter if you are first or 350th? You’re not a sportscaster.”
There she goes, using that word again obsession again. Doesn’t she know that I need to know, or I will perish ? That’s right, I said perish, because I am smart and use big words.

I was having a nice normal conversation with a friend. We were disgusting which announcer is better (that’s right I said, disgusting.) My wife comes in and says: “Who cares?”

“Who cares? You have to have the right voice!”

“Oh really. You’re obsessed with an announcer’s voice.” Then wife continues: “Let me try announcing this game. Turn down the volume, please.” So I say “Take your best shot, and I’ll turn down the sound.” “That guy uses the thingamajig and hit the round singular object down in the other end. Oh wait; they put the round thing into the netting. Now those men are hugging each other - that is just not right. There, see, anyone can do it. What is this obsession about the voice of an announcer?”

“You cannot call a hockey stick a thingamajig, and while I am at it, that round singular object, what is that?” I yelled. “There you go, another obsession with every term related to your precious NHL. Why does it have to be perfect for you? Who cares what the term is called, you knew what I meant.”

So if I am obsessed, that does not mean I am crazy, does it? What happens in one person’s world can really seem totally different in someone else. Easy explanation – yes, I am a crazy obsessed hockey junkie, I just enjoy watching her blow.

My wife calls me a fair weather fan whenever I criticize the Flames...and I mean whenever....I tell her it's my duty as a fan to be allowed to criticize them when they don't live up to expectations - to which she replies "Fairweather fan"...she doesn't even know how it works....Good read Flamestr!

i think you become obsessed when you start calling the players or coach and telling them what they did wrong or maybe if you tattoo the starting lineup in your arm
